WHAT IS YOGVEDA YOGA
Yogveda is the Science of Silence

Yogveda Yoga Method is a classical from of yoga based on the 2500 year old scripture "Yoga Sutras of Pantajali.
The Yogveda system focuses on working with the core strength and core muscles from the begining of the class. If your core muscles are week your body cannot be strong. A week body will have a week mind. At Yogveda we use "The Yoga Mat" a patented yoga mat for aligning and understanding yoga postures quicker and better.
The core muscle corresponds to the first 3 chakras in our body in Yoga. If these core muscles are week the energy cannot move upwards in the spine.
To understand and feel the difference between Yogveda and other Yoga methods we recommend you to try at least.
We use our patented yoga mat in the classes to help you understand and perfect your practice of yoga.
Body, mind, breath and soul are not different. The body is the temple of the soul, through the body one realises the soul with the practice of Yoga and this is called self realisation or enlightenment. In Yoga we rediscover the soul through cultivating the right body with good food, correct posture and right living.
Shahid Khan has years of experience teaching Yoga and working with people with bad posture. He has developed a method to work in Yoga asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath regulation) to correct the issues we face in our modern day living. This method is called Yogveda Yoga.
What is a bad Posture?
Bad posture mainly refers to a misaligned spine, and the causes of a misaligned spine are many. Some people are born with a misaligned spine due to hereditary reasons. Other reasons are bad feet balance, bad skeletal structure of the legs is a major factor, uneven hip joint opening is another factor and a bad spinal curvature and head moving forward away from the shoulders.
Lifestyle plays a important role in attaining a bad posture. Sitting too much is a major factor. It causes the femur to slightly move out of the hip joint and thus the support for the spine is compromised and the consequences are devastating for the individual. Body, breath, thoughts, hormones are negatively affected.
Right posture refers to the correct alignment of your spine with all its adjoining structures like feet, joints and legs. A person with good posture maintains proper alignment through all sitting, standing and lying positions. Bad posture in the form of slouching, hunching or slumping creates misalignment along the spinal column that disrupts nearly all major components of the musculoskeletal system. Failing to correct bad posture has significant implications for the skeletal system.
Below are the effects of having a bad posture.
Misalignment
The skeletal ailments that result from bad posture are the result of misalignment in the spine, badly balanced feet, X or O legs, and closed joints. When you have a good posture, the cervical curve, thoracic curve and lumbar curve of your spine balance along an imaginary vertical line that runs down your body from the top of your head to the bottom of your feet. An improper posture disrupts the alignment of your spine by either over emphasising one or more of the spinal curves, or by causing horizontal curvature to the spinal column. An improperly aligned spine disrupts alignment of other major bones and muscles, which can cause short-term pain or long-term structural damage.
Joint Stress
The joints in your body are surrounded by connective tissue designed to cushion and protect the joint during movement. A misaligned spine causes weight or stress to be redistributed throughout the body, so joints that were not intended to bear a significant amount of stress are now required to do so to compensate for poor posture. When joints bear stress beyond their capacity, the result is temporary or long-term pain as well as a degradation of the supportive connective tissue.
Growth Issues
The skeletal system coordinates growth with muscle fibres in order to maintain alignment and balance. Some forms of chronic poor posture negatively impact normal growth patterns. For example, bad posture that places added stress on the vertebrae of the spine will cause the connective disks to wear down more quickly, compressing the bones of the spine and causing a loss in height. Bad posture that compresses bones and joints also inhibits muscle fiber growth, leading to reduced strength or stature.
Osteoarthritis
Poor posture is one contributing factor to osteoarthritis. Osteoarthritis is the result of the severe degradation of the connective tissue between joints that protects the bones from rubbing together and thus causing pain. When posture is bad the load bearing balance of your joints, connective tissue is wore down, exposing bone to bone.
Physical and Chemical Causes
There are a number of physical causes for bad posture. Perhaps the most common one being muscle imbalance (muscles directly control the skeleton, especially the spine). In most cases, these imbalances are due to some type of neurological dysfunction between the brain and muscle. These weaknesses are not only in muscles directly controlling the spine, but throughout the which can significantly affect spinal posture and movement.
Another aspect of muscle dysfunction is reduced energy due to chemical imbalance. Muscle fatigue develops quickly in those with a bad posture during standing, walking, and even easy physical activities. Hormonal imbalance can play a role too. Especially important are conditions of low testosterone and low thyroid function.
Psychology
It has long been known that posture and gait reflects one’s psychological state. Negative living gives a unhealthy and bad posture. To change towards a positive living a person should change her or his posture. A healthy spine is essential.
Yogveda Approach
Yogveda Yoga is a Yoga method that focuses on understanding and solving the posture problems and integrating them in Yoga asanas and pranayama.
In the Yogveda Yoga method good health starts from the feet. The asana class starts with Yogveda Kriya, a very thought through and developed set of asanas to open the body, muscles and joints in all directions. It is a great warmup before starting the class.
The pranayama class is divided in two parts. The first part is the spinal correction that improves breathing and posture, and the second part is breathing exercises and concentration.
From your very first class at Yogveda you will work in your asanas to understand your posture and work to change it effectively. In asanas personal props are used to change the body and posture fast.
Problems corrected by Yogveda Yoga
In Yogveda Yoga good health starts from the feet. There is a system to correct and work with the body starting with feet first, then legs, hip correction, the spine, shoulders and the centring of head and brain. This leads to the correct posture, a deep and even breath and finally a clear consciousness. This is Ashtanga Kriya of Yogveda - the action or correction of eight limbs of the body.
We will recommend you if there is any thing needed for you body correction.
Spine Alignment and Brain
A good aligned spine is the key to good health. The brain and the central nervous system should have least tension to have a stress free body. Nerves from the spine connect the body everywhere like a network of information. Is the spine wrong, everything is wrong. It creates stress in the spinal curvature and body, disturbs the functions of the organs and the hormones and leads to negative thinking and an unnecessary stressed life.
By avoiding the common age- or fatigue-related slumping and making sure the lower spine is not slowly losing its natural curve, one can keep the body healthier and younger.
If we have the right posture – the posture in which we don’t have to fight gravity there is a natural relaxation within, the network of nerves are not tensed, this makes easier to reach Meditation.Meditation is a natural state achieved by having a balanced body, breath and mind. Meditation is pure silence from within.
Yogveda is the science of silence.
